This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) with duties in the "Professional" work category and at the Full Performance work level.


The organizational location is:  AFISR, NASIC, Space, Missiles and Forces Intelligence Group, Counterspace Analysis Squadron, Counterspace Threats Flight, Wright-Patterson AFB OH.

·         Serves as a Senior Analyst on foreign anti-satellite cyberspace operations (ASAT-CO) that determine the capabilities & vulnerabilities of foreign ASAT-CO counterspace systems.

·         Perform in depth analysis & direction junior analyst in performing in depth analysis which determines characteristics, capabilities & limitations of foreign ASAT-CO counterspace systems.

·         Serves as Intelligence Community subject matter expert on ASAT-CO & in coordinating with the PIA.

·         Develops requirements for & provides guidance on collection programs to include special access required programs.


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel Systems (DCIPS) position implemented under Section 504, Title V of Public Law 99-569, Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1987, as codified in Sec 1601, Chap 83 of Title 10 United States Code which sets forth Air Force policies and procedures for DCIPS.  This position is in the Excepted Service.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:  Applicants must possess one or more years of specialized experience which is equivalent to the next lower qualifying grade, pay band or other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and ability to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by providing advice on, administering, supervising or performing work in the collection, processing, reporting, analysis, evaluation, interpretation, and dissemination of information and/or products on political, economic, social, cultural, physical, geographic, medical, scientific, or military conditions, trends, and forces in foreign areas which directly or indirectly affect national security. These positions require a basic knowledge and understanding of one or more of the Intelligence Community’s (IC) disciplines. 


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):  Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 

1. Knowledge of the full range of intelligence research and collection methods, techniques, and practices to use multisource intelligence information systems to capture data in order to make recommendations in developing intelligence capabilities and threat assessments to interpret policy and commit resources.

2. Knowledge of advanced analytical principles, concepts and methods to produce detailed analysis of complex information/situations attained from multiple sources, to include database manipulation.

3. Knowledge of the national intelligence community, Joint, DoD structure, organizations, and mission/functions, inter-relationships and operations.

4. Skill in conducting unbiased complex research, identifying appropriate available systems/data sources, and producing collection requirement assessments that answer specific tasks to link and leverage agency capabilities in support of consumers, customers, and clients.


PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.  You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. 


1. Position is designated critical-sensitive and incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.

2. This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.

3. The employee may be required to travel in military/commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
