This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Mechanic without more than normal supervision such as: Maintaining freezers, water coolers, dehumidifier and related equipment such as cold storage and cold room equipment.

Selectee is required to participate in the Department of Defense direct deposit of pay program.
Suitable for Federal employment as determined by background investigation.
Selectee will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
Work requires frequent standing, bending, crouching, kneeling, climbing, and working in tiring or uncomfortable positions for long periods of time.
Selectee will be required to occasionally work from scaffolds, ladders and platforms.
Selectee may be required to perform strenous work while standing, sitting, or lying.
Work requires lifting and moving heavy items (up to 50 pounds).
Work requires exposure to dust, dirt, chemicals, heat, steam, noise, and unpleasant odors.
Work is occasionally performed outdoors, under adverse weather conditions.
Selectee will be exposed to repeated, prolonged, or concentrated amounts of refrigerant gases which may cause toxic effects to eyes, skin and internal organs.
Selectee may be subject to burns, electrical shocks, cuts, strains, bruises, and chemical irritations.
Must be able to wear personal type safety equipment such as safety glasses, hard-toe shoes, respirators, hardhats, and fire retardant golves. Safety equpment is often hot and uncomfortable and must be worn for long periods of time.
Emergency overtime, call back, weekend, and holiday work are regular requirements of this position.
Selectee may be required to report for duty during destructive weather conditions such as, but not limited to, ice and snowstorms, high winds, and hurricanes.
