The Indian Health Service (IHS) is the principal federal health care provider and health advocate for American Indians and Alaska Natives (AI/AN). The IHS goal is to raise Indian health status to the highest possible level. IHS provides leadership and direction to programs and activities designed to improve health outcomes to over 1.9 million AI/AN through a system of IHS, Tribal and Urban operated facilities and programs.

The Technician receives direction
from the Podiatrist within the Lawton Service Unit Podiatry department
performing duties such as: Uses electronic health record to record
history and physical of new patients prior to exams, schedules appointments,
records patients encounters and assists with minor and surgical procedures
under the direct supervision of the Podiatrist. Maintains clinic supplies
stocks and performs daily maintenance of clinic treatment rooms. This is a full
time permanent position under the Clinical Service Branch
of the Lawton Service Unit and is supervised by the Clinical Director.

Performs screening history and
physicals of new patients for the Podiatrist prior to physician examination.
· Performs biomechanical exams on patients that require
· Assists all minor procedures under the direction supervision
of the Podiatrist.
· Maintains clinic supply stocks that may weigh up to 25 lbs.

· Utilizes the appropriate electronic medical record system
for patient encounters and scheduling of patients.
