The Planning, Accountability and Reporting Staff (PARS) is responsible for planning, evaluation, accountability, and performance reporting for the agency and its portfolio of programs, as well as supporting these activities at the program-level.

The incumbent serves as a Management and Program Analyst on the Accounting and Reporting Team for PARS.  Duties include the following:

  • Documents and manages the Current Research Information System (CRIS) and REEport online reporting tools;
  • Prepares analysis of data in reports; and
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for customer service for these reporting systems.

To qualify for the GS-12 level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level.  Specialized experience includes the following examples:  (1) planning, developing, implementing and maintaining systems related to grant project initiation and reporting; (2) providing customer service to grantees entering project initiation and reporting data; (3) conducting user training for database system users; (4) developing business requirements for grants reporting systems; (5) analyzing data and reports to monitor and assess data integrity, accuracy, and program impacts; (6) preparing formal written documents, manuals, briefing papers, or presentations; (7) identifying and resolving problems in response to reported incidents and problems with database systems; and (8) providing advice to management on system improvements.

Time-in-grade restrictions apply for all candidates considered under Merit Promotion.
