This position is located in DHS, US Coast Guard, Sector Houston-Galveston, Inspections Division, Texas City, TX,
Selectee will be subject to pre-employment physical to ensure physical demands of position may be met and to preclude personal injury. Physical demands required in this position include climbing vertical ladders often 100 feet or greater in length; to enter confined spaces such as boilers, double bottom tanks/voids and cargo holds; to walk for prolonged periods in a stooped postion; and may require work on slippery platforms or scaffolding. Must also possess good sight and hearing to ensure that any regulatory deficiencies may be detected.
Travel is required and while most travel is by commercial vehicle or aircraft, the inspector must also possess a valid driver's license to drive various passenger vehicles to inspection and testing sites.
