For the GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Entering customer reported problems into the help desk automated trouble ticket system; and operating a computer terminal with a standard style keyboard in order to execute a variety of office automation functions such as data entry, error correlation, reports/data retrieval or researching for specific records.

Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Entering customer reported problems into the help desk automated trouble ticket system; operating a computer terminal with a standard style keyboard in order to execute a variety of office automation functions such as data entry, error correlation; reports/data retrieval, or researching for specific records; instructing the customer in basic troubleshooting techniques to aid in pinpointing and correcting the problem; querying the caller in an effort to determine the exact nature of the trouble, generating tickets and troubleshoots problems for an organization; and providing information to senior computer assistants or computer specialists for action on more complicated problems.

The work requires some physical exertion. There may be long periods of walking, standing, bending, reaching, or other similiar activities. Duties require regular lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 50 pounds. Heavier objects are lifted with the assistance of others or with weight handling equipment such as hand trucks or dollies.
The work is normally performed in an office environment which is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. However, work is also performed in the warehouse, commercial shipyards, and Naval Commands involving moderate risks and discomforts such as working around moving warehouse equipment, temperature changes, and drafts due to open dock doors.
