NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatibility assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.

AREA I: All New Jersey National Guard (NJNG) Technicians
AREA II: All Members of the NJNG
AREA III: All personnel eligible for membership in the NJARNG
If a New Jersey Air National Guard (NJANG) member is selected, the person must transfer to the NJARNG, and may be required to attend U.S. Army Basic Training. Applicant may contact an Army National Guard Recruiter.
If the individual selected is currently on a title 10 tour no action can be taken until he/she is released from tour.

APPLICANTS ABOVE THE MAXIMUM RANK:
Applicants with an enlisted rank that exceeds the maximum advertised rank for the position may be considered. Applicant must provide a statement with their resume/application which indicates their willingness to accept a reduction in military rank. If selected, reduction in military rank is required to prevent grade inversion. Air/Army Officers and Army Warrant Officers may be allowed to reduce their Officer/Warrant Officer rank to Enlisted only. Military recruiters can provide Air/Army Officers and Army Warrant Officers with specifics applicable to the applicant.

MAJOR DUTIES: Serves as a final reviewer of actions, which may
include but are not limited to: accessions, promotions, transfers, boards,
promotion eligibility; retirement eligibility; and actions that affect
eligibility of educational or incentive benefits as well as sensitive, complex
cases, which involve: allegations of inequitable, prejudiced, or similar
treatment (e.g. issues of fraudulent enlistment or assignment; removal of
military member from active or inactive status). Researches and obtains all necessary relevant
information regarding cases and issues and provides explanations and interpretations
of rules, regulations, procedures, and requirements pertaining to actions taken
or recommended. Serves as the primary point of contact,
coordinator, and advisor for questions regarding Military Funeral Honors and/or
