Position Summary:

This position is for a RN with a successful history of nursing experience, to work in a fast-paced, highly technical medical intensive care unit at the Indianapolis VA Medical Center. This position is primarily a 12hr position for Day Shift:  7:30a-8p.  Must also work one 8 hour shift (730a-4p or 330p-12m ) in two week period in addition to the 6– 12 hr shifts, with requirements of working at least every 3rd weekend.

SALARY RANGE:   Applicant's education and experience will be reviewed by a Professional Standards Board in determining the grade and salary of the applicant selected. The recommended salary may be at any point in the range listed for this vacancy.

Duties

  • Assess and monitor patients requiring critical care with critical thinking skills utilizing current evidence based practices.
  • Pt. and family teaching regarding pertinent procedures, meds, disease processes, invasive lines, IABP, CRRT, Artic Sun, sheath removal,
  • Maintaining equipment and supplies for ICU.
  • Performing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions for the critically ill.

Primary responsibility will be in MICU  and Medical Step Down
