NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatibility assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.

SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTORS:  To obtain the required AFSC, acceptance of this position requires a minimum ASVAB Score of 24 in the General area.  ASVAB scores will not be required to apply for the position, however applicants must obtain required ASVAB scores prior to acceptance of the position.  The applicant must verify their scores with their Military Personnel Flight/Military Personnel Office.

The following list of duties is not conclusive but provides a brief snapshot of the duties that may be required for this position:  A copy of the complete position description is available in the Human Resource Office.

 

MAJOR DUTIES:  Coordinates and administers the Food Service Program for the unit, ensuring maximum accountability and appropriate use of food service resources, in part by adopting the role of Quality Assurance Evaluator (QAE).   Manages the administration of lodging support for eligible members performing in an official military capacity (i.e Unit Training Assembly (UTA) and Split Unit Training Assemblies (SUTA), deployments, home station training, incoming deployment or evaluation teams, staff assistance teams, visiting VIP’s and transit crews).  Coordinates the necessary unit level Air Expeditionary Force (AEF) activities.  Manages the maintenance of office files, reports, correspondence, directives, and regulations.  Directs subordinates who are responsible for preparing, publishing, distributing and tracking of unit orders, including travel orders, annual training orders, special training and other orders.  Oversees the verification of contract requirements, invoicing, and validation of contract completion requirements.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Administrative or clerical experience, education, or training which demonstrates the candidate’s ability to perform the duties of the position. Experience using computer and automation systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:  GS-07 must have 12 months of experience in the interpretation and application of regulations, procedures or laws.

KNOWLEDGE of services, readiness management, Status of Resources and Training System (SORTS), and associated programs in order to analyze and plan adequate mission support.

KNOWLEDGE and ABILITY to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.

KNOWLEDGE and SKILL in using spread sheets, data bases, word processing software and computer systems in support of assigned programs.

KNOWLEDGE and SKILL in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of program related issues or problems.


SUBSTITUTION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:  High school graduate or the equivalent may be substituted for 3 months of specialized experience.  Education in schools above the high school level may be substituted for experience on the basis of one academic year of study (i.e. 36 weeks of substantially full time study, or 30 semester hours, or the equivalent) for 12 months of the required experience.
