The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an advisor and analyst to the Director on the evaluation of the effectiveness of programs and operations or the productivity and efficiency of the management programs relating to policy matters, strategic planning, legislative affairs, public affairs, and Executive Branch coordination.

This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Domestic Nuclear Detection Office (DNDO), Office of the Director.


·        Conducts comprehensive evaluations on policy statements and supporting documentation for use with the media and the Congress; ensures that close and harmonious relationships are established and maintained for an effective interchange of information between the DHS Office of Legislative Affairs, Congress, GAO, the DHS IG, Public Affairs, International Affairs, FEMA Grant Programs Directorate, and DNDO directorates.

·        Serve as a liaison to DHS headquarters Office of Public Affairs and work in a team environment to support the Department messaging and DNDO public affairs needs, including announcements, press events, and public releases of information.

·        Serves as an expert on program/project analysis, develops analytical guidelines used by other analysts, represents the organization at policy and planning sessions held within and outside DHS, and provides advice and guidance for cognizant programs or projects to participating organizations.
