This position is located in the Administration Division, Finance Branch, Accounting Operations Section, and is under the general supervision of the Supervisory Financial Program Specialist. The Financial Specialist serves as an authorized Certifying Officer for the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) with primary responsibility for approving and certifying for payment, all vendor payments processed for the Accounting Operations Section’s National Programs, Central Office. Payments are often complex and include disbursements against major contracts or interagency/reimbursable agreements.
