In accordance with 5 U.S.C. 3307, a maximum entry age of 36 has been established for initial appointment to a position in a Bureau of Prisons institution. If you are above the maximum entry age and have prior federal law enforcement coverage, you MUST submit an SF-50 to verify prior coverage.
Qualified Preference Eligible Veterans may be exempt from meeting the maximum age of 37. Please refer to the Required Documents Section for the appropriate documentation to submit to validate veteran eligibility.
The incumbent is responsible for providing the administrative control necessary to manage the Facilities office. This includes the proper disposition of all records and providing direction to inmate office personnel in the execution of all office procedures and duties. Operate computers using approved hardware and software programs and supervises inmates in the proper operation of this equipment. The incumbent provides training to inmates as to the proper operation of the equipment. The incumbent provides the first level of security of the equipment as dictated by policy. Must be proficient in the Facilities Department Automated Computer System with Computerized Maintenance and Management Software (CMMS), Word Processing, Financial Management Information Systems (FMIS) and other approved software systems.
Coordinates budget data and information to keep an updated budget account for the department. Maintains up to date information regarding the status of work requests, work order and B&F projects. Assists in providing accurate cost estimates and scheduling construction projects. Assists in monitoring the progress of all construction projects at the institution.
Serves as a recording member of the Work Programming Committee at Facility staff meetings. Assists the Facility Manager in preparing consolidated monthly reports and documents relating to the operation of the physical plant.
Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staffs correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
