The Department of Defense Domestic Dependent Elementary and Secondary Schools (DDESS) is currently accepting applications under examining authority of 10 U.S.C., Section 2164, for the above position in DDESS Schools.

 

Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) is a DoD Field Activity responsible for the oversight of two school systems, the Department of Defense Dependents Schools (DoDDS) and the Department of Defense Domestic Dependent Elementary & Secondary Schools (DDESS).   DoDEA employs more than 15,000 individuals responsible for educating approximately 90,000 students in 12 foreign countries, seven states, Guam, and Puerto Rico.   The mission of DoDEA is to provide a quality education from pre-kindergarten through grade twelve for the eligible minor family members of DoD military and civilian personnel on official assignments.

The Education Operations Manager works directly under the supervision of the Superintendent.

 

The selectee will be required to sign a mobility agreement as a condition of employment.

Serves as the Manager/Supervisor of Education Operational Services for a DoDEA District Office. Responsibility and oversight
of personnel and programs which support school and district education activities and functions to include Student
Enrollment/School Registration/Tuition and other related processes, Student Transportation Services, Safety/Security, Logistic
Programs (ISSA support, OUFs, and District ICASS), Property Maintenance and Accountability and other related processes, all
Facilities Management (MILCONS), and Executive Services. Plans, schedules, and implements School Assistance Visits (SAV)
to include training and inspection of the registration and tuition collection process, Government Purchase Card (GPC) with
direct oversight of the district program to ensure adherence to all regulations/policies including required trainings and
inspections; Extra Duty Compensation (EDC) Program, Student Activity Funds (SAF), property accountability, and required
Safety & Security functions (SIRS/AIRS and Crisis Management). Responsible for oversight of the District Student
Transportation Program, including the planning and implementation of all Transportation Resources. Responsible for district
public relations to include receiving, researching, and responding to all complaints, Hot Line and IG issues, and ICEs. Follows
up, as required, for successful conclusion.

Professional Experience Requirement: 

 

General Experience: To meet minimum qualifications, candidates will need to demonstrate a minimum of three (3) years of successful classroom teaching, specialist, or other professional educator experience in their application.

 

Specialized Experience: The best qualified candidates will need to demonstrate a minimum of two (2) years of successful experience (elementary through secondary) in a staff or supervisory position which clearly demonstrated the ability to administor school educational programs and to effectively supervise educators and support personnel.


Professiona Education Requirement:  A Master's degree in Educational Administration OR a Master's degree inclusive of 45 semester hourso of graduate credit (with a minimum of 30 semester hours of graduate credit in school administration, curriculum development, and supervision of instruction, or similar supervision related coursework) is required.

Professional Licensure/Certification Requirement:  A current, valid DoDEA certificate as an Administrator OR a current, valid State License with an endorsement in School Administration is required.

Education Operations Managers are subject to rotation to other locations as required to meet the needs of the organization and they must sign a mobility agreement at the time of selection.
