Position is being advertised concurrently under BR-PN-VA-GC-13-148 for current federal employees serving under a competitive service career or career-conditional appointment or reinstatement eligible. Reclamation has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisory approval. 

Reclamation is seeking a career professional looking for an opportunity to capitalize on his/her expertise as a Supply Technician. You can make a difference in the West by assisting in meeting increasing water demands while protecting the environment. Located in the Property Management Section of the Procurement and Property Branch, which is responsible for the proper receipt, accountability, storage, issuance and record keeping for all Government purchased materials.

  • Responsible for establishing inventory records, completing and standardizing technical catalog descriptions, classifying and assigning stock numbers, categories, and types in accordance with Federal Supply Classifications Standards and locally established codes, procedures, and current requirements of the Project.
  • Gives one on one training and support to project personnel on supply management procedures and programs.
  • Acts as liaison between offices on complex issues dealing with automated supply management programs.
  • Provides assistance to project forces furnishing information on warehouse stock, reviewing status of pending requisitions, investigating and resolving supply or record discrepancies.
  • Investigates and reconciles inventory discrepancies.
  • Executes, and reviews Property inventory reports and ensures corrective action is taken.

For the GS-06 level: 1 year *specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-05 in the federal service. 

You must have one year of specialized experience at a level close to the work of this job that has given you the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform. This experience is typically within this field or a field that is closely related.

*Specialized experience is defined as work experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled.

Examples of specialized experience include:

Performing general supply, inventory, or procurement functions; and preparing routine reports summarizing information data; replying to time sensitive “Data Calls” on critical issues: and identifying and working to resolve discrepancies and inconsistencies.  Providing assistance as a Liaison or Instructor on the supply process.  Reconciling accounts, inventory reports, staffing data, time keeping and clerical functions.

HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED:

Category rating and selection procedures will be used to evaluate applications from this announcement. If you meet the basic qualification requirements, your on-line responses to the vacancy assessment questionnaire will be used to determine the quality and extent of your experience, education, training, etc., for placement in one of the following categories: A) Best Qualified, B) Well Qualified, and C) Qualified. Qualified candidates will be assigned a numerical score on a scale of 70-100 and veterans with preference will be placed at the top of their respective category. The assessment questionnaire will take you approximately 60 minutes to complete.

  • Knowledge of how to perform one's job. Refers to specialized knowledge that is aquired through formal training or extensive on the job experience.

WHAT TO EXPECT NEXT:
