The Area Manager of the Yuma Area Office (YAO) is responsible for planning, directing, monitoring and evaluating the operations of the Yuma Area Office. LOCATION: Lower Colorado Region, Regional Office, Yuma Area Office, Yuma, AZ.
Relocation expenses are authorized with the exception of the Guaranteed Home Sale Provision. First-post-of-Duty relocation expenses are authorized for new appointments or reinstatement eligibles.

-Oversee the delivery of Colorado River water to agriculture and municipal users in California, Arizona and Mexico.
-Maintain the Colorado River from Davis Dam to the Mexico border. Develop partnerships with local, state, federal agencies, Indian Tribes and water users.
-Provide strategic planning and supervision to subordinate organizational units in the execution of program objectives.
-Serve as the advisor to the Regional Director on activities and relationships within the jurisdiction of the YAO including matters of confidential nature, congressional inquiries or other special interests.
-Ensure effective operation and maintenance of reserved and transferred works facilities is carried out.

GS-15: In order to qualify for the GS-15 grade level, your resume must reflect one year of specialized experience.
Specialized Experience for GS-15: Defined as experience working in water resource management or operations and maintenance in order to plan, organize, coordinate and direct a large organization in their distribution of water to water users. Experience should also demonstrate the ability to provide supervision, leadership, guidance, and direction through subordinate supervisors and staff on operations and maintenance activities.
Supervisory Competencies: Applicants should possess proficiency or the potential to develop proficiency in the following competencies for successful performance of Federal supervisory work: accountability, customer service, decisiveness, flexibility, integrity/honesty, interpersonal skills, oral communication, problem solving, resilience, and written communication. Category rating and selection procedures will be used for evaluating this position.
