JOB SUMMARY:

Type of Appointment: This is a Career/Career-Conditional Appointment [This is a full-time, non-dual status (competitive) permanent position and does not require National Guard Membership].

This position is with the Joint Forces Headquarters, Air National Guard, Human Resources Office, located in Latham, NY.

  • Reference Title 32 USC 709 & National Guard Technician Act for competitive

  • Process a wide range of human resources transactions related to recruitment and placement, classification, employee relations, human resources development and/or incentive awards;
  • Provide procedural and technical guidance to managers, supervisors and applicants on recruitment and placement, employee relations, job qualification requirements, merit promotion procedures, transfers, methods of recruitment; etc.;
  • Assist in planning and developing courses based on the needs of the agency and the workforce, assist managers and employees with identifying available training;
  • Provide support with the employee recognition awards programs.

In order to qualify for Human Resources Assistant, GS-203-6/7, you must meet one of the following: 

GS-6

Have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service, providing technical assistance on human resources matters; processing a wide range of human resources transactions (e.g. recruitment and placement, classification, employee relations, training, and/or incentive awards) etc.; using an automated personnel system; etc.

 

GS-7 

Have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 grade level in the Federal service, providing technical assistance on human resources matters; processing a wide range of human resources transactions (e.g. recruitment and placement, classification, employee relations, training, and/or incentive awards) etc.; using an automated personnel system; etc.
