This position is located in the Office of Programs and Plans, Office of Construction and Facilities Management, Office of Acquisition, Logistics, and Construction, Office of the Secretary, Department of Veterans Affairs in Washington, DC. The Office of Programs and Plans is responsible for identifying program requirements and developing strategies based on the expressed concerns and parameters of VA senior leadership; providing national direction of programs that require knowledge of major construction program objectives and budgeting, environmental issues, and facility financing transactions.

You as a Clerk will:

·       Assists in review of construction program management, real property program management, and quality assurance reports and records to locate errors, omissions, or other inaccuracies. 

·       Assists with maintenance of statistical records and collection of data for ad hoc reports using construction management software; and ensures that material is presented in accordance with specified format.

·       Receives calls and visitors; providing accurate and timely answers to inquiries specific to the responsibilities of the Office. 

·       Ensure accuracy of direction, referring to written policy or referring most difficult issues to appropriate staff member. 

·       Independently resolves a variety of clerical problems using extensive knowledge of the organization. 

·       Use broad knowledge of office functions when in contact with the general public or other units outside the immediate office in which information is exchanged or information is provided.  

·    Sets-up and maintains extensive files associated with responsibilities of the Office of Programs and Plans. 

·       Perform record disposition as appropriate and handle special materials in accordance with instruction. 

·       Receives, sorts, and distributes information based on established schedule of internal distribution processes.
