Join dedicated outpatient clinical staff whose joint efforts with individuals, families, and communities prevent and treat illness. The Indian Health Service in the Pacific Northwest provides healthcare to American Indians and Alaska Natives living in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho.

  • Responsible for planning, organizing and evaluating work assignments of the facilitys' Third Party Reimbursement program.
  • Develops or updates position descriptions, performance requirements and procedure manuals as necessary.
  • Teaches and trains employees; evaluates work performance; performs progress reviews and annual performance appraisals.
  • Develops and implements a comprehensive internal quality control system within the program.
  • Participates in preparing and interpreting statistical tabulations of clinic workload to demonstrate utilization patterns and develops plans of action.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

GS-9:  One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-7 OR master’s or equivalent graduate degree or two (2) years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related  

NOTE:  Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels for which both education and experience are acceptable.

Specialized Experience is progressively responsible analytical or administrative, or clinical management or supervisory experience in the health care field.  This work may have been performed in an operating health care facility or a higher organizational echelon with advisory or directional authority over such facilities.  Work must have involved a close working relationship with facility managers and analysis and/or coordination of administrative, clinical, or other service activities, and provided knowledge of the following:

·         Missions, organizations, programs, and requirements of health care delivery systems.

·         Regulations and standards of various regulatory and credentialing groups; and

·         Government-wide, agency, and facility systems and requirements in various administrative areas such as budget, personnel, and procurement.

Examples of specialized experience:  Work experience in collections of all third party resources and accuracy of third party billing activities.  Experience processing a wide variety of transactions, extracting, compiling and verifying utilization of billing data, computing and adjusting account balances, preparing required forms and records, and submitting and maintaining current assignments of benefits.

Type of Graduate Education:

Major study – hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration.

WHAT TO EXPECT NEXT:

First notification: Once the online questionnaire and resume are received, you will receive an acknowledgement email that your submission was successfully received. Receipt of this email does not confirm receipt of the other required document(s): copy of your license or completed OF-306 Addendum form.
