NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED:  This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatibility assignment in the National Guard.  Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.

 

AREA OF CONSIDERATION:

AREA I:  All Excepted Technicians of the 177th Fighter Wing (FW)

AREA II:  All Excepted Technicians of the New Jersey Air National Guard (NJANG)

 

If the individual selected is currently on a title 10 tour no action can be taken until he/she is released from tour.

APPLICANTS ABOVE THE MAXIMUM RANK:

Applicants with an enlisted rank that exceeds the maximum advertised rank for the position may be considered.   Applicant must provide a statement with their resume/application which indicates their willingness to accept a reduction in military rank.   If selected, reduction in military rank is required to prevent grade inversion.   Air/Army Officers and Army Warrant Officers may be allowed to reduce their Officer/Warrant Officer rank to Enlisted only.   Military recruiters can provide Air/Army Officers and Army Warrant Officers with specifics applicable to the applicant.

Duties

The following list of duties is not conclusive but provides a brief snapshot of the duties that may be required for this position:  A copy of the complete position description is available in the Human Resource Office.

 

DUTIES:  Provides direction to resolve problems on aircraft engines and propellers in a field level environment.  Monitors work of assigned personnel are fully utilized and work is accomplished in accordance with established time frames and priorities.  Advises the supervisor of overall work operations, status and progress of work; causes for delays, problems encountered, and individual performance (e.g., additional on-the-job training requirements for individual employees).  Routinely work with and alongside journey-level counterparts.
