We have one vacancy for an intermittent (on-call) ASU/PACU (Ambulatory Surgery Unit/Post Anesthesia Recovery Unit) nurse to provide staff coverage for sick calls and vacations. There are no guaranteed hours for intermittent employees. Status is on an as-needed basis. Intermittent staff are required to be available a minimum of four shifts per month. 


This Registered Nurse will provide patient care in the Post Anesthesia Recovery Room and the Ambulatory Surgery Unit.

These units have a Monday through Friday work week. Shifts are eight hours and may span from 5:30 am to 11 pm. We offer a 10% shift differential for evening shifts.


DUTIES:  Provide Phase I recovery care for the main operating room and many medical procedures.  The PACU RN also assists in providing moderate sedation to a number of invasive procedures such as tranesophageal echocardiograms, bronchoscopies, and dental proceduress.  This nurse will also float to the Ambulatory Surgery Unit pre-op and post-op areas.  The ASU RN will assist in preparing patients for surgery and medical procedures, provide phase II recovery for outpatients and will also be trained in moderate sedation.

A minimum of  two years of critical care experience within the past five years is required. ACLS certification is required on these units per facility policy.  Must have excellent clinical, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.

Sedation training preferred, two years recent recovery room experience preferred.
