This in an Excepted Service Appointment. The purpose of the Pathways Internship Program is to provide the intern with exposure to public service, enhance educational experience, and provide financial support to encourage and support educational goals.
MISSION STATEMENT: The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is the public health agency in the U.S. Department of Agriculture responsible for ensuring that the nation's commercial supply of meat, poultry, and egg products is safe, wholesome, and correctly labeled and packaged.
NOTE: Students applying to this announcement will be selected to work in the Program listed below. The Office of Field Operations (OFO), Field Operations manages inspection and enforcement activities nationwide, ensuring that domestically produced meat, poultry, and egg products are safe, secure, wholesome and properly labeled. Desired majors: All Science majors to include Animal Science and Food Science.
