This job family includes occupations involved in
the manufacturing, assembling, disassembling, renovating, loading,
deactivating, modifying, destroying, testing, handling, placing, and
discharging of ammunition, propellants, chemicals and toxic materials, and
other conventional and special munitions and explosives. Work involves
detection, identification, evaluation, rendering safe recovery, and disposal of
explosive items which are hazardous to operations, facilities, or personnel.
Must possess experience or training
which demonstrates the ability to use and maintain tools and equipment
associated with the type of work to be done, and to understand and follow oral
and written instructions; and experience which demonstrates the knowledge of
and the ability to apply safety standards.
WG-06: Must possess at
least 9 months experience or training
in receiving, packaging, and preparation for shipment; experience in compiling
reports, overall warehouse planning, documentation requirements, and accepted
warehousing methods, procedures and techniques; experience in setting up and
rotating storage locations considering factors such as life expectancy,
available space, product turnover, etc.; experience performing inventory and
inspections to determine serviceability of stocked items; and experience in
interpreting and applying written instructions, reference materials,
publications, and manuals.
WG-07: Must possess at
least 12 months experience or training handling and the ability to learn how to
destroy explosives and toxic materials; follow safety procedures in the
handling of ammunition, explosives and toxic materials; and experience which
demonstrates the ability to use radial monitoring instruments, photographs,
chemical analyses and x-ray equipment.
Specialized experience will be used to determine
qualifications for the announced position. Applicants must provide begin and
end dates (MM/YY - MM/YY) with description of your specialized
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidates will be
required to be in a compatible military grade and assignment prior to the
effective date of placement.
Enlisted applicants military grade cannot exceed the maximum
military grade authorized. Over-grade applicant must provide a written
statement of understanding with application, willingness to be administratively
reduced in grade (state specific grade) if selected for this position.

Must possess or be eligible to retrain into Military Occupational Specialties (MOS).
- Technicians are paid through Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (DD/EFT).
- The Selected applicant must complete a Declaration of Federal Employment: prior to the appointment date.
- Military Technicians are ineligible for military enlistment, retention, and student loan repayment bonuses. Acceptance of a Technician position will terminate these military incentives.
- Acceptance of a permanent or indefinite position will cause termination from the Selected Reserve Incentive Program (SRIP).
- Relocation expenses will not be paid by the Government unless noted in the Announcement.
- Military Technicians in the excepted service will wear the appropriate uniform while performing as a Technician.
- Veterans preference does not apply to National Guard Technician positions in accordance with Title 32 USC 709(f).
