Description - Marriage and Family Therapist (Functional Statement)

is located in the Chaplain Service
is as a Marriage and Family Therapist within the Family Services program that is situated in the Chaplain
Service at the Roudebush VA Medical Center,
Indianapolis, IN. The Marriage
and Family Therapist is an advanced practitioner providing
direct services to patients and their
families. The incumbent establishes and maintains
effective working relationships with patients, colleagues, and other
professionals in collaboration throughout treatment regarding clinical,
ethical, and legal issues and concerns.
This includes the ability to represent and educate others regarding the
Marriage and Family Therapy perspective in interdisciplinary staff meetings
while respecting the roles and responsibilities of other professionals working
with the client.
Also will have full program management responsibility for marriage retreats and workshops under the driection of the Chief of Chaplain Services.
