The VISN 23 Minneapolis VA Health Care System, Mental Health Service Line is recruiting for a  Psychologist (Partial Hospitalization Program) position which will be filled at the GS 11, 12 or 13 level.

The full time permanent Psychologist is part of the VISN 23 Mental and Behavioral Health Service Line in the Partial Hospitalization Program (PPH).  The psychologist will provide diagnostic interviews, assessments, individual and group psychotherapy, and education interventions for adult patients with a full range of mental health issues.  The position may also provide Primary Care Mental Health Integration services on the weekend.  Additional responsibilities include multidisciplinary consultation and participation in the psychology practicum student, intern and postdoctoral fellow training program (i.e., teaching seminars; supervising practicum students, interns and postdoctoral fellows). The position may include providing mental health services as noted above in a Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) at any CBOC location.

Work Schedule: Full-Time Days including Saturday

Salary: To be determined by Professional Standard Board of your peers and based on your education, experience, and professional accomplishments.

Relocation Expenses: Not authorized.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

·         U.S. citizenship. Non-citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

·         English language proficiency (written and spoken)

·         Physical standards - All applicants must meet the physical standards for the position. A physical examination prior to employment may be required.

·         Education - Attained a Doctoral degree (Psy.D., Ph.D., Ed.D.) in psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited graduate program AND completed an internship in professional psychology through an institution accredited by the American Psychological Association.

·         Licensure - Is eligible for (within two years from the date of employment) or holds a full, current and unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level in a State, Territory, or U.S. Commonwealth.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The work of the position is primarily sedentary, however some light carrying (under 15 lbs), walking, standing, and bending is required.  Work is primarily performed in a well-lit office environment.
