As a Senior Technical Laboratory Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Participating in the development and formulation of programs, policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines in the areas of administrative management, program and financial planning and evaluation, information management, and other related activities in support of major Laboratory/Division/Institute programs and functions.
  • Designing and conducting laboratory experiments.
  • Evaluating and interpreting research results.
  • Producing complex studies and written reports.

In order to be qualified for this position, you must have successfully completed a four year course of study leading to a Bachelor's or higher degree with a major in an academic field related to the health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position.

 

In addition, to qualify at the GS-14 level, you must possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal Service, that includes participating in the design and conduct of laboratory experiments requiring the application of a broad professional knowledge of scientific theories and principles of applicable research discipline; evaluating research results from basic, pre-clinical, or epidemiological studies; producing studies and written reports, including scientific manuscripts and analytical reports.
