This position is located in the Food and Drug Administration, Office of Regulatory Affairs, Central Regional Office, State Programs Branch. These positions will be filled in one of the following locations, Baltimore, Maryland, Chicago, Illinois, Cincinnati, Ohio, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Detroit, Michigan, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

This is a trainee level position located in a Regional Office of the Food and Drug Administration, Regional Office.
The incumbent will serves as a radiation authority within the Central Region for resolving problems encountered through review of x-ray field tests conducted by District and State personnel. Advises Compliance Branch personnel or the Regional Radiological Health Representative on preparation of technical portions of correspondence to the affected industry and users of radiation emitting electronic products and radiological medical devices. Serves as a senior regional auditor/monitor for diagnostic x-ray compliance testing and may assist the Districts with annual performance audits of State and Federal personnel who conduct compliance tests of diagnostic x-ray equipment within the Southwest Region. Conducts investigations and inspections of manufacturers of complex and sophisticated radiation emitting electronic products and radiological medical devices.
