Summary

Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations. The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.

This vacancy will be used to fill a vacancy within the NAF Human Resources Office located on Joint Base Lewis-McChord. The Human Resources Assistant provides advice and assistance to lower level employees on the preparation and processing of documents related to pay, compensation, benefits training, permanent change of station moves and/or other aspects of NAF employment.

BEST QUALIFIED CRITERIA: Applicants that possess one (1) year Human Resources experience preferably gained through work performed in Federal Government at the next lower level with special emphasis in extending job offers and informing applicants on basic pay and/or benefits inquiries.

Applicants meeting best qualified criteria will be referred first to the selecting official. All other applicants will be referred for consideration if the certificate (refferal list) is returned with no selection.

Duties

Processes a wide variety of routine and complex personnel actions requiring an in-depth knowledge of NAF civilian personnel rules and regulations. Provides advice and assistance to lower level employees on the preparation and processing of documents related to pay, compensation, benefits training, permanent change of station moves and/or other aspects of NAF employment. Receives and rates applications for employment. Prepares referrals and arranges for interviews at the request of management. Writes and posts job announcements. In-processes and out-processes employees, conducts orientations and interviews potential candidates for employment opportunities as required. Ensures the maintenance of the automated personnel database. Establishes and maintains official folders, files and reports.
