SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR: This position has a selective placement factor needed in order to qualify. The actual selective placement factors are a current certification in Basic Life Support certification (BLS) AND Department of Navy or equivalent DOD service school for Psychiatric Technicians and possess at least a level one National Certification as a Psychiatric Technician; OR possess a current state licensure as a Licensed Psychiatric Technician; OR possess a current state license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. Failure to possess these factors WILL result in an ineligible rating. Possession of the factor must be verifiable via your resume or submitting a copy of the certifications with your application.
IN ADDITION TO THE SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR, APPLICANTS MUST HAVE:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In order to qualify for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
- Experience applying interview techniques in a mental health environment.
- Experience conducting relaxation exercises and biofeedback, instrumentation and tailoring modalities to the needs of individual patients
- Experience maintaining medical-legal documentation and record keeping requirements
- Experience assisting in the delivery of a variety of treatment modalities including biofeedback, stress management and group therapy.
- Experience scheduling patient appointments using Composite Health Care System (CHCS) or equivalent.
