This position is located in Region 4, Office of Environmental Accountability, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Program Office working with the North Carolina Department of Transportation in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Please note that you, as the selectee, may have to take up to 55 furlough hours (unpaid time) by September 30, 2013, including the remaining designated furlough days of July 5 and August 30, 2013. The number of furlough hours that you have to take will be proportional to your start date.

Duties

You will:

- Serve as a regionally recognized technical authority in National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance activities for complex infrastructure projects.

- Represent the Environmental Protection Agency at project review meetings and site inspections for the purposes of conducting environmental analyses, guidance, and review of North Carolina Department of Transportation projects.

- Review, analyze, and recommend modifications of plans or programs developed by state, local, or tribal government entities to implement various provisions of federal environmental standards.

- Serve as the NEPA Section 404 Merger Teams representative.

When entering a Federal job at a grade level lower than the highest promotion potential level, you may be promoted to more complex duties and work more independently, as your career progresses.
