JOB SUMMARY:

Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission.  They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations.  The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.

This position is located at United States Military Entrance Processing Command, Columbus Military Entrance Processing Station, Operations Group, Testing Section, Columbus, Ohio.

Description of Working Environment:

As a Test Administrator, you will administer tests to high school students and individuals wishing to enter the military.

This position does not provide guaranteed work hours each week, and work will be assigned on an intermittent "as needed basis".

This position will NOT lead to a full-time position.

Travel is required to various testing sites.

Personally owned vehicles are required to be used.

Travel reimbursement is authorized.

The duties of this position include:

  • Administer written and computerized tests in the local commuting area (up to a 100 mile radius when necessary).
  • Use personal vehicle to transport test materials.
  • Maintain security and inventory of test materials
  • Review applicants test admission forms

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below.  Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
 
Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. General experience is defined as: progressively responsible clerical, office or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of a Test Administrator. Examples of qualifying general experience include reading instructions, greeting visitors and filing. 

Education Substitution: Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience above in order to qualify. For this job, you may qualify if your education meets the definition(s) below:

1) Education alone: Education may be substituted for specialized experience with 2 years of education above high school.

2) Combination of education and specialized experience: A combination of education and specialized experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of undergraduate education in excess of 1 years by 30. Add the 2 percentages. Note: For the purpose of qualifications, 1 full year of undergraduate education is equivalent to 30 semester hours.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: To receive credit for education completed outside the United States, you must show proof that the education has been submitted to a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign educational credentials and such education has been deemed at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education programs.

HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED:

You will be asked a series of questions to determine your eligibility, qualification, and quality ranking for this position.
