In this position you will serve as an IT project manager performing work related to leading IT systems projects which are contained in the Health Care Quality Information system (HCQIS).   Specifically, you will:

 

  • Develop, modify and implement IT project plans
  • Manage, lead and administrator IT project activities 
  • Analyze information system requirements and environment 
  • Formulate project plans, statements of work, and budget in support of IT initiative

Basic Requirement:

 

IT related experience (may be paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, for example, IT certification, as appropriate) demonstrating each of the four competencies:

 

  1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
  2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
  3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
  4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

 

In addition to meeting the Basic requirement as listed above, applicants must also meet the specialized experience as described below:

 

 

Specialized Experience: Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.

Specialized experience is defined as one (1) year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes meeting four or more of the following criteria: 1) Coordinating and integrating IT project activities; 2) Developing and implementing IT project plans; 3) Negotiating and prioritizing schedule activities and deliverables with the project teams and functional activity groups; 4) Making improvements, solving problems, and/or taking corrective action when problems arise; 5) Collaborating with team members and other groups in order to define IT systems scope and objectives; 6) Developing information system implementation strategies or scenarios; and 7) Representing an organization in technical discussions.


Conditions of Employment:

2.
