Applicants applying for the GS-13 grade level must meet the following requirements: Have Information Technology (IT)-related experience demonstrating EACH of the four competencies AND specialized experience listed below:
- Attention to Detail - Investigating, evaluating, and selecting tools and methods for improving productivity and software quality throughout the life cycle; performs a detailed feasibility analysis for adopting new software design technologies.
- Customer Service - Providing broad technical guidance to team members; and serves as the primary liaison between customers, vendors and Information Technology (IT) management throughout the development process.
- Oral Communication -Preparing and presenting projects, important policy and program materials, status briefings, recommendations, justifications, documentations and developing reports.
- Problem Solving - Resolving critical issues affecting the configuration and IT nfrastructure. Appling extensive skill in correcting problems in performance parameters and variances, while successfully implementing accurate and feasible solutions.
Have at least 1 full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which provided you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
-Applying applications software design concepts and methods, new technologies, and project management principles;
-Applying applications software design principles and methods, interrelationships between Information Technology (IT) disciplines, and new software design technologies (i.e. system engineering to include structured design and support).
-Conducting detailed analyses of complex functions and work processes; providing expert technical advice and recommendations to employees and senior level management officials based on findings resulting from evaluation of IT functions, policies and programs.
NOTE: In order to qualify for this position, your experience MUST be Information Technology (IT) related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, Information Technology certification), as appropriate.
There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-13 position.
