As a Computer Scientist, you will:
- Design and develop scientific software applications and/or hardware.
- Participate in establishing system design characteristics to meet requirements.
- Implement algorithms for highly parallel computer structures containing many processor elements in application areas such as computational chemistry and structural biology.

You must have a Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal Government, performing the following types of tasks: : designing and developing scientific software applications and/or hardware; participating in establishing system design characteristics to meet requirements; appling the techniques of parallel computing to computationally intensive tasks that are encountered in biomedical applications; implementing algorithms for highly parallel computer structures which contain many processor elements in application areas such as computational chemistry and structural biology.
Have completed three (3) years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a related field.
Have a combination of related post baccalaureate education and specialized experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
