This position is located in the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), Office of the Director, Office of Science Management and Operations, Office of Administrative Services, Intramural Administrative Management Branch, in the Rocky Mountain Laboratories, Hamilton, MT.

If selected for this position, you will perform the following duties:
Perform general office support duties such as receiving and directing visitors; developing and maintaining filing systems; responding to inquiries and requests from senior officials and staff members and responsible for logs and reports.
Perform procurement and budgeting functions such as monitoring and acquiring office supplies for the workplace, ensuring adequate stock of all purchases, and reordering supplies as appropriate. Track procurement requests and reconcile deliveries with requests.
Provide technical assistance to the AOs in the formation and development of budget estimates. Monitors the use and rate of expenditures of select items in program budgets.
Perform a variety of human resource related duties to include preparation of personnel packages and updates, assistance with the recruitment process, assistance with in-and-out processing of staff, and maintenance of updated reports on personnel actions in progress, as well as those actions projected to occur. Prepare personnel actions for performance increases, awards, and other actions.
Perform various office automation tasks using various software applications, such as word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software to prepare documents for other employees.
Perform travel and timekeeping functions. Reconcile and maintain current records to assure accuracy, up-to-date record keeping and accountability in the event of an audit. Advise appropriate managers of time and leave problems. Serve as the travel system representative.
At the GS-05 or GS-06 level, you will essentially perform the same duties as described at the full performance level above, however duties are less complex and will be performed under closer supervision with more detailed guidance.

For the GS-05:
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-4 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: performing clerical tasks related to monitoring and maintaining office files; performing timekeeping duties; receiving and directing telephone calls and visitors; responding orally to inquiries and requests for information; and interacting with staff from administrative and payroll offices to resolve pay issues.
Have completed 4 years of education above high school.
Have a combination of post high school education and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
For the GS-06:
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: researching and furnishing information for recurring questions; providing logistical assistance for office moves, telecommunications, and key/lock requests; providing various office support service and resolving problems, such as telephone services, tracking/coordinating general building service calls/requests; and tracking budgetary transactions.
For the GS-7:
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-6 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: coordinating travel activities and maintaining reports on travel activities for the organization; coordinating the logistics for special events; gathering, monitoring and accessing data for use in budget allocations; reviewing expenditures of funds; identifying and developing methods to track budget expenditures or other related data; and providing guidance and advice in various administrative areas.
In addition: This position requires the skills of a qualified typist. You must be able to type at least 40 words per minute.
