JOB SUMMARY:

BLM is seeking a dynamic and energetic individual to join the team to serve as an administrative support clerk for the Division of Management and Budget. The BLM manages more land - approximately 253 million acres - than any other Federal agency. This land, known as the National System of Public Lands, is primarily located in 12 Western states, including Alaska. The Bureau, with a budget of about $1 billion, also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estates throughout the nation. The BLM's multiple-use mission is to sustain the health and productivity of the public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations.

Incumbent will provide clerical support assignments for the Oregon State Office, Division of Management and Budget. Duties will include reviewing, editing, analyzing and tracking incoming and outgoing correspondence; researching, gathering and organization background materials for use in reports and meetings; writing reports and final documents for Budget Officer signature; and managing office functions.

Specialized Experience Requirements : In order to be rated as qualified for this position, we must be able to determine that you meet the specialized experience requirement - please be sure to include this information in your resume. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade (GS-04) of the position to be filled. Examples: Performing administrative support functions for an organization, including entering, maintaining and retrieving information from automated systems; typing draft and final correspondence, reports, forms and records. You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of the announcement.


One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-4 level in the Federal service OR 4 years of successfully completed education above the high school level.

HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED:

As a temporary employee you will serve under an appointment limited to 1 year, with the possibility to extend 1 additional year (total of 2 years), and are subject to termination at any time without use of adverse action or reduction-in-force procedures. A temporary appointment does not confer eligibility to be promoted or reassigned to other position, or the ability to be noncompetitively converted to a career or career-conditional appointment.
