Location: This position is within the Denver Acquisition & Logistics Center (DALC) in Golden, CO.

Area of Consideration.  To be eligible under Merit Promotion, you must have an eligibility listed below:

This position serves as general office and administrative support for the Section Chief of one or more departments within the Denver Acquisition & Logistics Center (DALC).

Major Duties:

  • Receive, time stamp and sort incoming mail.
  • Answer and screen phone calls. Direct calls to the appropriate person for action.
  • Greet visitors and direct them to the proper person.
  • Establish and maintain office files.
  • Process routine travel documents.

To qualify for this position at the GS-0303-05 level, you must have at least: 

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 level in federal service or an equivalent pay system. This experience may have been gained while performing administrative and clerical duties in support of an organization.

OR

B. Successfully completed four years of education above high school level. Successfully completed education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. NOTE: YOU MUST SUBMIT COPIES OF YOUR TRANSCRIPTS.

OR

C. Have part of the experience described in A, and have part of the education described in B. Therefore, you have a combination of experience and education. NOTE: YOU MUST SUBMIT COPIES OF YOUR OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS.

AND

Type 40 or more words per minute.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid work on the same basis as for paid experience. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. To receive credit for such experience you must indicate clearly the nature of the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the number of hours per week spent in such employment.


Education:

REQUIREMENTS:

·         Background Investigation: You may need to successfully complete a background investigation before appointed into the position.

 

·         Probationary Period: You may be required to serve a one year probationary period.

 

·         Time in Grade (TIG): Current employees, Transfer and/or Reinstatement Eligibles must have a minimum of 52 weeks at the next lower grade GS-grade level to be eligible under Merit Promotion.   An SF-50 must be provided which shows your current pay plan/series/grade to verify time-in-grade requirements are met.  Failure to provide an appropriate SF-50 will result in an ineligible rating.  

 

·         Relocation Expenses: Relocation expenses are not authorized for this position.

 

·         Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met.  Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
