This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Office of Mine Safety and Health Research (OMSHR), Division of Mining Research Operations (DMRO), Hearing Loss Prevention Branch (HLPB), Bruceton, Pennsylvania.

The incumbent will provide program support to the Hearing Loss Prevention Branch of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. Duties will include: Collection, compilation, research and tracking of data. Maintain and/or develop automated systems of program-specific data to track suspense on items. Receive, review for adequacy, accuracy and completeness. and processes grants, cooperative agreements, contract applications and other program documents. Researches and resolves associated problems. Analyzes program/project administrative processes to identify inefficiencies and recommends improvements. Communicates with colleagues, branch management and other contacts outside the branch to gather and analyze information about branch processes and programs. Provides program support in the management of the project planning activities of the organization. Helps conduct specialized program activities such as conferences, workshops, etc. Assists in the acquisition, development and/or scheduling of program resource materials. Makes arrangements for and completes necessary travel documents for the Branch. Manages the administrative property of the Branch. Provides information, monitors budgets, submits requests or changes. Performs other duties as assigned.

To qualify, applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service as defined in the next paragraph.

 

FOR GS-06:  Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position to include experience performing a variety of administrative tasks for an organization.

   

FOR GS-07:  Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position that includes performing administrative tasks such as preparation of spreadsheets, developing/maintaining databases, and/or using advanced features of administrative software.

 

PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS:  This position requires proficiency in typing, i.e., at least 40 words per minute.  You will be asked to self-certify your typing proficiency in your on-line application.

 


Conditions of Employment:

 

1.
