Seeking a Clinical Nurse to provide nursing care in the blood donor and research apheresis section of the Department of Transfusion Medicine, Clinical Center. The NIH Clinical Center Department of Transfusion Medicine provides clinical services to support NIH patients in need of blood component therapy, cellular therapy, therapeutic apheresis, and specialized laboratory diagnostics. In addition, DTM collects and prepares the blood components and cellular therapy products used in patient care at the NIH, maintains an accredited Immunohematology Reference Lab, offers a fellowship program in Transfusion Medicine, and runs a training program for Specialists in Blood Banking. The ideal candidate will have experience in Blood Banking i.e. screening, and evaluating Donors/patients for apheresis/phlebotomy for Research and Transfuse-able products. Experience operating the Cobe Spectra, Fenwal Amicus, and Therakos UVAR XTS photopheresis machine.
This position is located in the Clinical Center.
