JOB SUMMARY:

ARKANSAS NATIONAL GUARD 

MILITARY GRADE REQUIREMENT:  Enlisted, Not to Exceed TSgt/E-6

NOMINATING OFFICIAL:  Maj Mark Hart, Logistics Management Officer

DUTY LOCATION:  189th Airlift Wing (AW), Arkansas Air National Guard (AR ANG), Little Rock Air Force Base (LRAFB), Arkansas 

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS:  This is an Excepted (Dual Status Military Technician) position that requires active membership in a compatible skill in the Arkansas Air National Guard.  Selectee must be a member of the Arkansas Air National Guard and be assigned to the 189th AW in a compatible military position in Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) 3D0X1.  Must become compatible in the AFSC within 12 months of appointment.  Must possess or be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.

Serves as the focal point, local authority and expert source for information for all administrative functions of the unit.  Develops procedures that affect administrative management and program development within the unit. As Work Group administrator provides technical support and troubleshooting for daily network operations including identifying issues and resolving problems, and documenting the problem history and solution.  Explains complex network concepts to nontechnical personnel in non-technical language.  Assignments are given with information on general administrative changes, deadlines, and priorities.  Performs other duties as assigned.

SPECIALIZED QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:  Must have at least 9 months experience performing administrative work, gathering information, compiling data and preparing reports.

PLACEMENT FACTORS:  Applicants should demonstrate through prior experience, education and training the following: (1) Skill in operating word processing equipment.  (2) Knowledge of administrative files, publications and procedures.  (3) Knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and required agency formats.  (4) Knowledge of preparation, publication, distribution and tracking of civilian and military orders.  (5) Knowledge of the organization and its function, sufficient to refervisitors, telephone calls and mail.  (6) Completion of appropriate technical school/Career Development Courses (CDCs).

OTHER INFORMATION:

This position with the Arkansas National Guard is a Title 32 USC 709 position, not Title 5, and as such has different Reduction In Force (RIF) criteria, certain grade and promotion limitations, and no Veterans Preference.  Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer of Civilian Pay is required as a condition of employment/promotion/reassignment.  Initial in-processing of new employees will include enrollment procedures.  Permanent Change of Station (PCS) may be authorized in accordance with Joint Travel Regulations (JTR).  For those individuals at the 188th FW applying for this position, Grade Retention and Pay Retenion will be authorized.  A recruitment or relocation incentive may also be authorized upon approval from NGB.
