JOB SUMMARY:

Support Warfighters and their families with well-being services, infrastructure, environmental and fiscal stewardship, and other installation services to enhance war fighter’s ability to accomplish their mission and provide a quality living and working environment.

 

Employee will only work during the summer season at Outdoor Recreation Season

This position is located at Outdoor Recreation Center Fort Riley

 

The Marina is located on Milford Lake, the largest man-made lake in Kansas and is approximately 16 miles outside of Fort Riley.

In a patron usage facility, circulates among patrons to assure service is satisfactory; receives and resolves customer complaints; provides information and general instructions on the use of equipment, facilities and machinery.

Assists patrons in use of the facility by checking out equipment, providing safety instruction, demonstrating new equipment.

The Marina offers over 20 watercrafts for rent, ADA accessible playground, 4 pavilions and fueling station.  In addition, there is a boat ramp, courtesy dock and a 10 slip boat dock.

Employees will be required to perform regular facility maintenance to include cleaning restrooms, docks, trash pickup and lifting heavy items weighing as much as 75 pounds unassisted.

Manager perfers but is not required, that the employee have experience with computers, cash registers and boat maintenance.

Prefers that employee be able to work on/around water for extended period of time and be able to work in adverse weather conditions to include extreme heat.

Employees must also be able to obtain the National Association of State Boating & Law Administrators (NASBLA) approved boaters card within (2) weeks of employment and posses a valid driver's license.

Employees in this position are required to work non-standard hours which includes nights, weekends and holidays.

Issues tools, equipment and games to authorized customers. Checks identification, collects fees when appropriate, and completes appropriate documentation. Receives returned items, inspecting for obvious damage and missing parts. Checks inventories and supplies.

In a recreation facility, assists in directing patrons, scheduling the use of courts, lanes and equipment. Participates in and directs games and social events. Decorates party rooms and maintains the cleanliness of assigned work areas.

In Outdoor Recreation programs, demonstrates simple techniques.

Provides facility and program information to patrons. Assists with simple repair and maintenance

 

Management prefers that applicants be able to lift heavy equipment weighing up to 550 pounds with assistance upon appointment.

 

Prefers applicants to be able to work in all types of weather to include extreme heat and cold temperatures.

 

Prefers applicants to have and interest in Outdoor Programs such as campling, fishing, paintball, etc.

 

Basic knowledge of math and computer skills to maintain the daily cashier records.

 

Employees in this position are required to work non-standard hours; to include weekends.
