This position is located at: USPFO, Camp Williams, WI

This position is open to the following areas of consideration:

Area I – All dual status military technicians in the Wisconsin Army National Guard.

Area II -   All Military members of the Wisconsin Army National Guard.

Area III -   Current military members eligible for membership in the Wisconsin Army National Guard.

Military Grade: The maximum grade available is O-4 or CW5.  Applicants must currently hold a minium pay grade of E-9, O-1 or WO1 to qualify for this position.  This includes those who are eligible for commission within 12 months of the hire date.

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard.  Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.  Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.  Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

The purpose of this position is to supervise workers, either directly or through one or more subordinate leaders and/orsupervisors, in accomplishing the operations of a distinct organizational unit and to perform associated non-supervisorywork. The occupation and non-supervisory grade level which best reflects the nature of the overall work operations supervised is Materials Handler, WG-6907-06.

Experience or training which demonstrates that the candidate has the ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain  manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports.


WS-06 must have at least 36 months experience performing inventory and inspections to determine serviceability of stocked items.  Experience in interpreting and applying written instructions, reference materials, publications, and manuals. Experience in setting up and rotating storage locations considering factors such as life expectancy, available space, product turnover, etc.   In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel.   Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines.   Experience that provided knowledge of variouslines of work performed by this function.  Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potentialto perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge ofgeneral supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes.   Experience in adapting existing equipment andtechniques to new situations.

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Military skill set is determined by MOS requirements.  Upon selection, individuals must be assigned to a compatible military MOS in accordance with statutes and National Guard Bureau regulations and must obtain/maintain all requirements of the MOS.

Compatible Military Assignments:

OBR: 01A, 88A, 90A, 91A or 92A.  ECMF:91.  MOS: 36B, 51C, 74D, 88M, 88N, 89A, 89B, 92A, 92F, 92G or 92Y. WMOS: 011A, 882A, 890A, 913A, 914A, 915E, 920A, 920B, 922A or 923A.

Military Grades: Only current applicants in the grade(s) of E-9 or O-1 through O-4 or WO1 through CW5 are eligible to apply for this position.  This includes those who are eligible for commission within 12 months of the hire date.

  • Incumbent must maintain membership in the Wisconsin National Guard.
  • For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
  • For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
  • The wearing of the military uniform and abiding by the customs and courtesies as prescribed by applicable military service regulations are conditions of employment.
  • Employees will be required to participate in direct deposit/electronic fund transfer (DD/EFT).
