Summary

MINNESOTA ARMY NATIONAL GUARD

This position is located in a Surface Maintenance Facility.   Its purpose is to perform maintenance, repair, and inspections on the electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components on armored vehicle turrets.

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED

This is an Excepted Service position that requires active membership in a compatible MOS in the Minnesota Army National Guard and wear of the military uniform. Acceptance of an Excepted Service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Duties

Performs maintenance on the electrical system of the turrets.  Tests and repairs electrical test sets that are used to test the electrical systems of the tank turret.  Follows schematic diagrams and relays to determine if there is malfunction in the test equipment.  Repairs the hydraulic system.  Repairs all mechanic parts involved in turret traversing.  Repairs the gears and bearings in the gearbox.  Repairs all small gear drive components.  Services the gun.  Borescopes the gun tube to check for wear.  Makes recoil adapter readings.  May also work on ITV's, howitzers, and other less complex equipment.  Performs other duties as assigned.
