The individual selected for this position will manage multiple special programs which include: the VA transportation program located at the North Little Rock campus; at the Little Rock campus the programs are Wheelchair retrieval, Telecare program, Post-discharge nurse contact program, and the Escort program.  Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: (a) participation in design, support and maintenance of assigned unit; (b) direction of quality improvement activities; (c) evaluation of staff performance; (d) initiation and facilitation of collaboration among disciplines; (e) collaboration in developing, implementing and maintaining Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System, Nursing Service and Ambulatory Care policies, mission and goals; (f) facilitation of staff development; and (g) implementation of unit plans and programs.  The successful candidate will utilize professional communication skills to accomplish the above and coordinate changes according to complex patient care needs.  

 

 

Relocation expenses will not be reimbursed.

Citizen of the United States. 

 

Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant:  The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). 

 

Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia.  In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement of graduation from an approved school of professional nursing.   

 

Must be proficient in spoken and written English.

 

Current certification in BLS

 

Applicant's education and length of nursing practice (experience) will be considered by a Nurse Professional Standards Board in determining the grade and salary of the applicant selected.  The recommended salary may be at any point in the range listed for this vacancy.

Education:  

BSN is required; MSN is preferred.

Experience:

 

Two (2) years of successful professional (RN) nursing practice is required.

 

Two (2) years of professional (RN) ambulatory care nursing experience is strongly preferred with evidence of progressive nursing/administrative responsibility. 

 

Board certification by a VA approved certifying body is preferred.
