To qualify at the GS-9 level, you must possess one of the following (Please note: you must submit your transcripts if you are using education to qualify):
A. One year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-07 level in the Federal service (obtained in either public or private sectors). This experience must include activities such as: 1) implementing security requirements for information technology systems and networks; 2) performing risk and vulnerability assessments to identify potential security risks; and 3) assisting with the assessment of new systems design methodologies to improve software quality. OR
B. Successful completion of a masters degree or equivalent graduate degree, or two full years (36 semester hours or equivalent) of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks. OR
To qualify at the GS-11 level, you must possess one of the following (Please note: you must submit your transcripts if you are using education to qualify):
A. One year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-09 level in the Federal service (obtained in either public or private sectors). This experience must include activities such as: 1) implementing and analyzing security requirements for information technology systems and networks to ensure compliance with regulations; 2) evaluating existing and proposed systems, networks, and software designs for potential security risks; and 3) assessing new systems design methodologies to improve software quality. OR
B. Successful completion of a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree, or three full years (54 semester hours or equivalent) of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks. OR
To qualify for this position at the GS-12 level, you must meet the following requirement:
A. At least one year of full-time specialized experience or the equivalent, comparable to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal Service (obtained in either the public or private sector). This experience must include activities such as: 1) integrating security programs across disciplines, defining the scope and level of detail for security plans and policies applicable to the security program; 2) developing and implementing procedures regarding security and virus detection in compliance with regulations; 3) resolving integration issues related to the implementation of new systems with the existing infrastructure; and 4) reviewing and evaluating infrastructure protection programs to identify issues and recommending corrective action.
In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications above, you must also have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the following four competencies for this position:

Conditions of Employment:
This position may require shift work on a 24x7x365 basis and you may be required to work weekends, nights, and/or holidays on a rotational basis or as the need/workload dictates.
Travel within and outside of the National Capital Region (NCR) may be required up to 25%.
