PUERTO RICO NATIONAL GUARD
AIR TECHNICIAN VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT


AREA OF CONSIDERATION:

Area 1 = Permanent technicians Enlisted currently employed in the Puerto Rico Air National Guard.
 
Area 2 = Enlisted members of the Puerto Rico Air National Guard and personnel that meet all requirements to become an Airman in the Puerto Rico Air National Guard.  (This position requires Air National Guard membership).

First round consideration will be given to Area 1 Candidates. (Area 2 Candidates will be screened only in the event that there are no qualified or recommended Area 1 Candidates).

To prevent a grade inversion, military rank allowed for this position will be determined at the final evaluation of the vacancy announcement considering the military rank of the supervisor.

Relocation costs will not be authorized for Permanent Change of Station.   Recruitment, Relocation or Retention allowance will not be paid.

Acceptance of any military technician position may cause the termination of entitlements and eligibility for all military bonuses and student loan repayments.   For further information you must contact the appropriate military Education Office.

The purpose of this position is to assist in the performance of a variety of production control processes including planning, estimating, scheduling and expediting work and supply tasks in direct support of assigned facilities and Real Property Installed Equipment (RPIE) for the Civil Engineer Squadron (CES) on the installation or assigned Geographical Separated Units (GSUs) and to manage the deployment and logistical (supply) assets of the CES.  Such work involves work order management, oversight/management of CE operations to include training of drill status operations personnel, implementation of operations and supply procedures and operations, maintaining squadron mobility equipment, command and control contingency cell, providing supply guidance/assistance to other squadron personnel, oversight/performance of requisitioning, receiving, storing, accounting for and issuing a variety of repair parts, components, tools or vehicles, facility inspections, database maintenance and contract management.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:

 

Experience, education, or training which indicates the candidate can reason in quantitative terms, can express himself orally and in writing, and understands the terminology and data pertaining to the repair operations and processes characteristic of the production activity.

 

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

 

Applicant must possess more than TWELVE (12) months of specialized experience performing or supervising duties such as  working experience with production control methods, procedures, equipment and materials; working experience with supply and logistic functions such as material and equipment ordering procedures; ensuring proper supply handling and scheduling; operating various computer programs and automated systems; maintaining automated reports; identifying and documenting maintenance support problem areas; coordinating movement of equipment and material.


SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

 

Completion of one year of graduate level course study directly relevant to production or industrial management may be substituted for 12 months of specialized experience. Copy of student transcripts must be included in order to receive credit for education. Unofficial transcripts from internet or with alterations will not be considered. To receive credit for education the information must be included in the education section of the Resume.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

- Loss of military membership will result in immediate loss of your full-time military technician position.

 

- Excepted Civil Service Technicians are required to maintain a MOS/AFSC and military grade that is determined by the NGB to be compatible with the assigned technician position.

 

COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENT:

In order to achieve compatibility prior to effective date of personnel action, individual selected must be eligible for military assignment to a paragraph and line number in one of the following: AFSC 3E6X1. 

Note:  In order to be qualified for above mentioned AFSC(s) you must comply with mandatory entry requirements contained in Air Force Manual AFMAN 36-2108, Enlisted Classification or AFMAN 36-2105, Officer Classification, as applicable.

Individual selected for this position that is not qualified in one of the mentioned CMF/MOS, MUST submit to HRO, before date of appointment, the correct military paperwork/application to attend the technical training school required to be MOS Qualified. If selectee fails to process the school application and does not successfully graduate from the school, he/she will be terminated from the technician program for failure to meet the compatibility standards and receive a 30 days notice of separation.
