The organizational location of this position is:  AIR FORCE (PACIFIC AIR FORCES COMMAND), HICKAM, HI

 

 

·         Performs ISR planning in the development and/or execution of deliberate operation and contingency plans to conduct theater wartime operations utilizing all-source intelligence capabilities.

·         Provide inputs into the development, revision or update of MAJCOM ISR strategy and policy.  Develop concepts of operations, tactics, techniques and procedures and ISR capabilities requirements to implement plans and policies, as required.

·         Develop, update and/or/revise ISR requirements or capabilities for current, new or advanced ISR techniques, tactics and practices in support of air, space and cyber-space weapon systems.

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel Systems (DCIPS) position implemented under Section 504, Title V of Public Law 99-569, Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1987, as codified in Sec 1601, Chap 83 of Title 10 United States Code which sets forth Air Force policies and procedures for DCIPS.  This position is in the Excepted Service.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:  At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower level which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties as an Intelligence Specialist.  Specialized experience would be demonstrated by providing advice on, administering, supervising or performing work in the collection, processing, reporting, analysis, evaluation, interpretation, and dissemination of information and/or products on political, economic, social, cultural, physical, geographic, medical, scientific, or military conditions, trends, and forces in foreign areas which directly or indirectly affect the national security. These positions require a basic knowledge and understanding of one or more of the natural or social sciences.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):  Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 

 

1.  Knowledge through training, assignment and /or exercises of the Joint Operations Planning and Execution (JOPES) system and family of documents, including JSOP, JSCP, TPFDD and UTC’s.

2.  Knowledge through training, experience and/or execution of theater war plans and exercises; completion of the Air Force Contingency, War Planning Course and/or completion of Air War College or other Service’s equivalent.

3.  Knowledge through assignments or participation in exercise of tactical unit operations, tactics, techniques, practices and procedures on the information requirements and capabilities of all-source ISR application, operation, targeting, personnel management, intelligence cycles, processes, and systems and/or completion of a service or DIA intelligence course.

4.  Knowledge through assignment, exercises and/or training of AOC all-source ISR applications, GI&S, targeting, collection management, and all functions of the intelligence cycle; and/or completion of the AFFOR Joint Air Operations Center Course.

5.  Ability to work, collaborate and coordinate with HAF, COCOM, MAJCOM, NAFs, other Services, subordinate and collateral action officers, staffs and technical assistants and to follow staff procedures, guidelines and instructions

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.  You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. 


 

ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  

1. Must complete a Special Background Investigation and favorable adjudication by a determining authority and must be eligible for a Top Secret clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information.

2.  Must have completed a basic Defense or Service general military intelligence course.

3.  Must pass initial and all follow-on periodic random drug tests.

4.  Must complete all ancillary training required by AF, COCOM, and MAJCOM.

5.  Must assume a fair share of additional duties, voluntary or assigned.

6.  May perform duty away from normal duty station on military/commercial transportation.

7.  Must complete AF and Joint ISR, management and theater training courses on a periodic basis.

8.  Must be familiar with the USPACOM area of operations, and the joint/combined environments.
