Degree: major study in an academic field related to the health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position.
In addition, to the basic requirements, you must meet the requirements outlined below:
GS-11: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal Government obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: assisting staff in resolving routine issues on intellectual property and/or technology transfer; making minor modifications or adaptations to established methods, procedures or techniques; gathering information for use in developing responses to routine inquiries; drafting documents to explain scientific or other findings; assisting in preparing portions of briefing reports relating to routine technology transfer; participating in meetings to advise on and to respond to specific, routine questions regarding technology transfer; interacting with individuals within an organization to provide information and/or to coordinate activities.
Have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, if related
Have 3 full years of related progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
Have equivalent combinations of related graduate education and qualifying experience.
GS-12: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal Government obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: adapting, interpreting, and analyzing routine issues pertaining to the laws, regulations, and policies, applicable to intellectual property and/or technology transfer issues; contributing to portions of publications; communicating routine scientific, administrative and/or legal issues; drafting routine technology transfer agreements; assisting with preparing briefing reports on routine technology transfer and/or intellectual property issues; drafting analysis from a scientific, legal or business perspective; preparing documents for negotiations with academic, business or other organizations.
GS-13: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal Government obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: providing advice to management and staff on the laws, regulations, and policies, applicable to intellectual property and/or technology transfer activities; providing guidance on the development and management of routine technology transfer agreements; providing briefings to management on technology transfer and/or intellectual property issues; and performing analyses from a scientific, legal, or business perspective and developing recommendations to resolve intellectual property and/or technology transfer issues.
