Positions located throughout Fort Campbell’s Child and Youth Services (CYS). Schedule tour of duty will require evenings, weekends, and holiday work hours. Applications may be reviewed and referred to selecting official for selection prior to closing date.

This is a Federal Wage System Position, entitled to progressive step increases starting with Step 1 ($ 8.08 per hour) and ending at Step 5 ($10.11).

Performs a variety of cleaning utilizing light and heavy duty powered equipment. Cleans and disinfects all rooms, corridors and other areas within the facility. Trim bushes and clean playground equipment. Pick up and dispose of all trash and debris and clean all trash cans, inside and outside of the facility, as required. Clean all windows. Make sure entire building and equipment is secured before leaving. Perform floor maintenance i.e. strip, wax, buff all floors and shampoo carpets, as necessary. Inform management when supplies are needed. Perform intense cleaning to areas within the facility i.e. dusting ledges and windowsills or any place where dust collects; remove sticky adhesives; and clean baseboards. Able to follow scheduled daily, weekly and monthly duties according to the Custodial Checklist that is located in each room of the CYS facility. Able to thrive and work in any condition where one might be exposed to heat, light, ventilation or dirt. Able to work under no supervision, is a self starter. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Must have ability to follow instructions and read signs.
  • Must have a basic knowledge of common cleaning solvents, cleaning tools, and equipment.
  • Must know the proper uses of a variety of special cleaning and sanitizing solutions, and must be able to remove different kinds of stains from a wide variety of surfaces.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot, make adjustments, and perform minor repair and maintenance of equipment.

 

 

Experience and training that furnish the knowledge skills and abilities needed to perform the duties of this position consistent with accepted practices of the trade.
