The Manchester VA Medical Center (MVAMC) is a Joint Commission accredited, complexity Level 3 facility serving Veterans in southern and eastern New Hampshire. The Medical Center is located in Manchester, NH, which is a short distance from the state capitol of Concord, New Hampshire and approximately 75 miles north of historic Boston, Massachusetts. Manchester, New Hampshire, in the heart of New England, is a short distance from both the mountains and from the ocean, allowing everyone to enjoy the multitude of beaches in the summer, to skiing and snowmobiling in the winter. If you enjoy professional sports, you don’t need to go to a big city. Manchester, New Hampshire is the home to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, the Double-A baseball team of the Toronto Blue Jays and the Manchester Monarchs is the farm team of the LA Kings. Manchester is also the home to the Verizon Center, the Currier Art Museum and many other cultural events and activities.
The Manchester VA Medical Center is a dynamic and progressive healthcare organization dedicated to providing quality, compassionate and accessible care, and service to New Hampshire Veterans. The Manchester VA Medical Center provides four (4) Community-Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) that all work together to form a comprehensive healthcare delivery system.  MVAMC is a member of the VA New England Healthcare System, which includes seven other medical centers throughout New England.
There are more than 28,500 unique patients with more than 367,000 Outpatient Visits. The Manchester VAMC is a 41-bed operating facility consisting of a 35-bed Community Living Center and a 6-bed Palliative Care Unit. In addition, we have robust Primary and Specialty Care clinics and a 24-hour Urgent Care Department.

VA structures its SES positions into pay bands.  This is a Pay Band 3 position.  The salary for this position is capped at $165,300.  Exceptions to the cap of the range may be considered in certain circumstances. 

Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, a recruitment/relocation incentive, and/or Appraised Value Offer (AVO) (formerly Guaranteed Home Buyout Option) may be authorized.

The Health System Administrator is responsible to the Network Director. The position requires the effective and economical direction, control, and operation of the Manchester VA Medical Center. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:   

·      This position has full delegated line authority and responsibility for executive level management of the Manchester VA Medical Center. Overall responsibility for planning, organizing, coordinating, controlling, reviewing, evaluating, and improving medical, administrative and support operations of the medical facility.

·       Makes final decisions which have a direct and substantial impact on the health care organization and programs. Such decisions affect the nature, scope, and quality of patient care programs and activities.

·       Establishes Manchester VA Medical Center policy and procedure consistent with the VISN 1, Veterans Health Administration (VHA) and VA corporate guidelines.

·       Determines program goals and objectives and develops short-range and long-range plans for achieving strategic direction consistent with VISN 1, VHA and VA Strategic, Performance and Operating goals.

·       Develops and maintains cooperative relationships with other Federal government agencies, local and state governments, community organizations and other health care providers in Manchester VA Medical Center's area.

·       Fosters positive relations with the media, Congressional staff, service organizations, and volunteer groups.
