The position is located in the U.S. International Trade Commission, Office of the Chief Financial Officer, Office of Finance.  As an Operating Accountant you will assist the Director of Finance in managing the activities of the Office of Finance and will be responsible for the integrity of accounting data, and developing required reports and financial statements.

Duties

As an Operating Accountant, you will be responsible for managing certain aspects of the day-to-day accounting operations for the agency; providing the Director of Finance with recommendations regarding financial management system enhancements; devise and initiate improvements in the office, particularly in the areas of source data control and entry, financial reporting and cash management operations; reviewing selected financial transactions and records to ensure proper compliance with fiscal policies and procedures; preparing detailed analyses of financial transactions pertaining to expenditures of USITC funds; developing required reports and financial statements; entering and manipulating data in the agency’s accounting system (currently Oracle Federal Financials); and administering the agency's SmartPay Program.
